I really enjoyed reading this, and as a fellow grinder in my sleep I can very much relate to the whole teeth thing.

Ahhh what a lovely reflection. I have also learned to be more gentle and compassionate towards myself in sobriety. Something I've recently been working on more proactively is being kinder to myself in relation to work. I'm a self employed copywriter, and have a tendency to feel guilty when I rest. I'm working on accepting that I deserve rest and relaxation, too!

Ah thank you for sharing this Olivia - I find rest and relaxation very difficult too, and really relate to that guilt. I notice that it doesn't often feel safe for me to relax, and have found that having compassion for myself around that rather than trying to 'force' myself to relax (as if that works!) is helpful... Just pausing and noticing 'something in me doesn't feel safe to relax in this moment.'
